Contractual or approved teachers in primary education (first degree) must possess either: (1) the diploma required for permanent access to the salary scale of primary school teachers or the certificate of aptitude for primary school teaching (CAPE), OR (2) successfully complete one of the competitive exams specified in Articles R. 914-20, R. 914-23, R. 914-24, or R. 914-28, obtain a secondary education teaching certificate, and obtain a salary scale change under Article R. 914-16 conditions.
Contractual or approved teachers in secondary education (second degree) must satisfy one of three conditions: (1) successfully complete a competitive exam specified in Articles R. 914-20, R. 914-23, R. 914-24, or R. 914-28 and obtain a secondary education teaching certificate, OR (2) possess primary school teaching qualifications and obtain a salary scale change, OR (3) be classified in category 2 or 4 of private agricultural education teaching staff under Decree 89-406 with a permanent contract.
