This decree updates France’s regulatory framework for biogas injected into natural gas networks. It mainly affects biomethane producers, gas network operators, guarantee-of-origin registry managers, energy regulators, and companies involved in biogas purchase contracts, remuneration support, or production certificates. The changes are mostly administrative and compliance-focused. Producers must report the effective date of certain contracts to the national guarantee-of-origin registry within three months. They must also keep technical and performance documents available for regional authorities, which can share them with the energy regulator on request. The decree also tightens some proof requirements, replaces outdated legal references, and adjusts eligibility language for biogas production certificates.
